Cutting through the overwhelming assortment of beauty products vying for our attention is daunting. How do we know what to trust? For us, something effective and of good quality is more important than beautiful packaging (but a nice package is always appreciated!). Having worked with amazing creatives at the top of their professions, we're happy to share their go-to, tried and tested products that are *always* in their kit.

JULIE PROVIS is one of Australia's foremost hair and make-up artists. Her career started in Sydney and has grown to include a body of work with Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, L'Officiel, Dua Lipa, Gemma Ward, Florence and the Machine and countless editorial and commerical projects.

With a signature aesthetic that is all about modern, minimalist beauty and a fresh-skin approach, she creates looks that reflect what’s both current and forward-thinking in fashion and beauty, while honouring the natural integrity of face and hair.
Julie sat down with us and shared some secrets and tips from her personal kit.
G: In terms of prepping the skin, what's your go-to process/ products you rely on?
J: "For skin prepping, start with a good micellar water cleanse. I use Bioderma, then a hydrating toner to help trap moisture. Laneige Cream Skin Cerapeptide is great; you could almost stop here, but I finish with Embryolisse Creme Concentrate."
G: For travel or on-the-go, what are your essentials?
J: "My essentials for travel/ on-the-go...
1. Always a Laneige Sleep Mask balm.
2. A tinted moisturiser or light foundation like MAC Studio Radiance in a 50ml bottle.
3. A cream bronzer and blush that can be used for your eyes as well. I like Merit Beauty and Rhode for this; and a tubing mascara!"
G: What make-up look are you loving right now?
J: "Right now I am most into a pared down minimalist approach. Think Margot Robbie's press tour for Wuthering Heights or Emma Stone at the Golden Globes... it's the finest micro liner that's almost invisible but it's there, skin is effortless and polished... lip could be a well shaped sheer nude or a sheer red."

G: Name the few products we'd never find you without!
J: "Giorgio Armani Luminous Skin foundation,
Chanel Cream Bronzer,
Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks in Coquette,
MCo Beauty Xtend lash tubing mascara"

G: What's the most over-rated thing in beauty right now? And the most under-rated?!
J: "The most overrated trend in beauty for me right now is overly bronzed/ contoured and blushed faces to create the 'Aussie Girl Aesthetic' that's all over TikTok.
The most underrated... clean polished skin with the most subtle enhancement of the natural features."
